Some interesting plants in the school

If you are observant enough, you will be able to notice some interesting plants in our school compound.

Did you notice that the flowers are blooming in the science garden ?

Many nice plants are just around you, if you look carefully.

Going bananas ? This is found near the pond. One of our school attendants has protected this valuable bunch of bananas.

A nice fern frond growing beside the pond.

The fruits of the palm tree.

This plant is called the Indian Rubber Tree, or Ficus elastica.

This is our National flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim.

There are also some nice water plants.

This plant is called the penny wort. It started with just one pot and now it has grown all over the pond

This is the water lettuce. The water lettuce is a very interesting plant. It is a floating plant and reproduces easily. The 'baby' plant grows from the parent plant. When the 'baby' is fully grown, it separates itself from the parent.

Can you see the 'baby' plant attached to the parent ?

Look around, and you may discover more interesting plants !
