Butterfly Breeding Programme

After the repairs to the butterfly garden last term, we started the butterfly breeding programme this term.

Selected pupils from P5 attended their first of four sessions yesterday. In the first lesson, they learnt about the life cycle of butterflies and how to take care and maintain the butterfly enclosure in the school.

The pupils also learnt about characteristics of insects, and that not all creepy crawlies are insects.

They were given a pupa kit so that they can observe the whole life cycle by themselves and later release the mature butterflies in the school's enclosure. They were also given a butterfly journal to record their observations.

More updates next week on the second lesson.
