Some P4 pupils are attending a course every Wed to learn how to grow vegetables using the system. Hopefully, we can hervest the veggies soon.
Science club has also started for 2008. In the first session, we created a sundial which will work in Singapore, which is near the equator.
The gnomon is the part of the sundial that casts the shadow. Vertical gnomons do not work in places near the equator. The gnomon has to be parallel to the Earth's axis of rotation. In Singapore, the gnomon has to be horizontal. As you can see, this paper sudial is showing that that the time is lost 3 o'clock, which is very accurate !
