Science Club Activities

The school science club meets every Friday from 1.30pm to 3.00pm.

There are 2 groups, one lower primary group (P3 - 4) and one upper primary group (P5 - 6). The lower primary group is run with the help of a parent volunteer, Mdm Sapna. The science club carries out hands on activities for the pupils, in both life sciences and physical sciences.

The lower primary group did a variety of activities this semester. They made paper spinners, studied plant parts, investigated how clouds are formed and even dissected a fish.

What better way to learn than to cut it up ?

The upper primary group played around with concepts in flight for this semester. Using easily available materials like paper and sticky tape, we built boomerangs, gliders, paper aeroplanes and rockets. We also built a sundial and did some fieldwork in the ecogarden.

paper rockets. the paper tube is the launcher. you launch the rocket by attaching it to the tube and blowing hard

Do you know that sundials with the 'stick' pointing vertically do not work in Singapore ? This is how a sundial should be constructed to work in Singapore

We will be doing more exciting activities next term !
